At the end of one of the trails... where the Eagles like to hang out watching for salmon. When high tide is in, they move in closer with lots of Action I'm told by the ranger there. This is a good 200 yards away. About 7 there and some flying in and out at times.

... This Bald Eagle was way up this huge pine accross the pond. Jacks Photography

Then as I was driving out to leave, I saw across the creek about
300 yards off, a Bald Eagle and immature sitting in some trees.
So I turned around to go back to see if I could sneak up on them.
Problem was, the Bald Eagle was on the other side of this tree and
if I was to go around I'd be right under him maybe 50 feet.
For sure he would NOT let me get that close, so I took this shot just in case. .

Jacks Photography

Sure enough, he saw me even then and took off the back way.
So much for that...

I've noticed that the Bald Eagles are much more skittish than the
immature youngsters who let you get MUCH closer. Probably why the
Bald Eagles live past five too. The Bald Eagles usually leave the
back way where the youngsters go where it is faster, forward like
the next few shots show.
